A Burns Evening is to be held in the Book House, Broughty Ferry. Robert Burns, played by local writer/actor Robbie Murray, will make an appearance while he edits chapters of his life story. This event starts at 7:30pm and is open to the public but with limited seating available, so booking in advance via Eventbrite is strongly recommended. |

Sunday 5th February 2023
The Spirit of Robbie Burns, a play which has been performed around Angus churches in recent years and was performed in Edinburgh during last Year's Fringe, will be presented in Newton Panbride Church, Arbroath Road, Carnoustie, at 7pm. James Hutcheson and his cast will tell the Bard's life story in poetry, song, dialogue and narrative. Tickets for this event are available directly from the church, at the local Fobel Shop, or by paying at the door on the evening. Ticket price is £6 per person, including refreshments. |

Appearing by kind invitation of Dobbie's Garden World, Robbie sold and autographed copies of his books at their store at Ethiebeaton Park, Monifieth, Dundee, DD5 4HB. A fantastic opportunity to meet Robbie and hear more about his work, as well as a chance to get hold of a unique, personalised Christmas present just in time for the festive season.

By kind invitation of Dundee Library Services, author Robert Murray gave a public presentation about his new book The Grocer's Boy Gets Down to Business on the day of its release, Tuesday 31st May 2022, at 2pm at the Steps Theatre, Dundee Central Library, Wellgate Centre, Dundee, DD1 1DB. The third in his successful Grocer's Boy series, The Grocer's Boy Gets Down to Business covers his period of employment with famous wholesale grocery retailer Watson and Philip in Dundee from the 1970s until the turn of the century. The presentation concluded with a question and answer session and book signing, and was the public's first opportunity to purchase a copy of the book and to have it autographed and personalised by the author.

A performance of Robert Murray's acclaimed play The Spirit of Robbie Burns took place on Sunday 26th January 2020 at 7pm at Friockheim and Kinnell Parish Church in Station Road, Friockheim, Angus. The producer was James Hutcheson, and proceeds from the ticket sales were donated to Friockheim Church. This was the sixth annual performance of the play.

Robbie took part, along with five other well-known Tayside-based writers, in Local Authors' Day at The Bookhouse in the High Street, Monifieth. This special event took place between 10am and 5pm, and offered a great opportunity to meet local authors from the region and talk to them about their work.

The day was very successful, with Robbie chatting with members of the public and many books signed in-store. Sincere thanks to the staff of Waterstones for so kindly making this event possible.
